Welcome to the Jean Grey School For Higher Learning. Welcome to the future
Spinning directly out of X-MEN: SCHISM, the X-Men are split in two. In the oversized debut issue of the new ongoing flagship X-series, Wolverine takes one half of the X-Men back to Westchester to start over again. Created by Marvel Architect Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo, this new era of X-Men tales begin in this volume. Professor Xavier is no longer responsible for a a school-filled of mutant kids but Wolverine is in the new Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. Along with Headmistress Kitty Pryde and Vice Principal Hank McCoy, Headmaster Logan will be teaching mutants and aliens how to control their powers, that is if they pass their inital state Department of Education inspection…Because Wolverine And The X-Men is an amazing series that just isn’t getting the praise it deserves. In this masterpost are the first #9 issues of W&TXM as well as the first 4 (out of 5) issues of the spin-off series: Wolverine and the X-Men, Alpha and Omega. I will be updating with each issue a couple of weeks after it comes out, but please try to buy the issues when you can in order to support this comic and the comic industry. The first arc is already out in trade if you want to buy it as well!

[…] try to imagine fandom’s reaction if the next big Holmes adaptation to come along had Holmes and Watson as British, yeah - young black British men, living case to case on a council estate in a dodgy area of London. How fandom would react if Sherlock Holmes didn’t employ street kids and homeless people like trained animals to do his bidding, but instead was part of that invisible underclass; if instead of having his eccentricities tolerated~ by Scotland Yard on account of being the Great White Genius, Sherlock Holmes, BME, school dropout, and sometime addict, was regarded by the police as practically a criminal already, one more thug, one more junkie, one more dealer in the making. If he had to choose between buying the week’s groceries or palming a twenty to a bored constable for the chance to spend five minutes on a crime scene, in the hope that whoever’s under enough pressure to deal with crime rates in the neighbourhood will pay him enough for a perp to feed himself and Watson for a month or two. If the greatest threat to his safety were police brutality, or the prospect of being done for a snitch; if his arch enemy weren’t Moriarty, but the systemic poverty and inequality that has him helping out his oppressors just to get by, and that makes the other side of the law look more tempting to someone with his skills every day.

A series of murders of influential people in different cities across the country is the reason why Colonel Nick Fury, a decorated ex-army man consulting for the FBI has assembled a team of skilled detectives to solve the murders and stop the killer before more deaths occur. The investigation takes a personal turn when the brother of one Detective Odinson is implicated in the murders.

“There’s already a Spider-Man and he seems to- to love it. He loves jumping around and being hit in the face and lit on fire. I’m not that guy. Let him do that. I’m not that guy.”
Miles Morales is bitten by a slightly different strain of genetically engineered spider than that which granted Peter Parker his powers. Miles, who just wants a normal life, is unhappy about having these abilities, and initially nauseated at the idea of risking his life to engage in superheroics. However, after Miles witnesses Spider-Man’s death at the hands of the Green Goblin, who is revealed to be high schooler Peter Parker, the guilt-ridden Miles realizes he could have helped Spider-Man. After his best friend Ganke suggests he assume the mantle of Spider-Man, and the two learn why Parker did what he did, Miles is inspired to try his hand at costumed crimefighting. During his first foray into costumed superheroics, he is confronted by many who consider his use of his Spider-Identity to be in ‘bad taste’. After helping S.H.I.E.L.D. subdue the escaped supervillain Electro, S.H.I.E.L.D. releases Miles and gives him a modified black and red version of the Spider-Man costume, which Ganke feels makes Miles “officially” the new Spider-ManBecause a lot of people have expressed the desire to read Miles’ series, but have no idea how to start. Here are the first #9 issues of Ultimate Spider-Man v2. I will be updating with each issue a week after it comes out, but please try to buy the issues when you can in order to support Miles and the comic industry.
